Glorious Woodlands will speak to your county archaeologist to find out if there are any heritage designations and your County Council archaeology department will be able to inform us of any listed buildings or monuments.
Obtaining information on any historic features or historic interests is important because archaeology sites may need access routes. This search will provide information on features such as ancient field patterns and the presence of hedgerow banks. We will use inventories to find out whether there has been designed landscape on your site. In rare cases, extensive historical research may be needed.
Following the guidelines set out by the Forestry Commission, Glorious Woodlands will map and evaluate all known archaeological features in terms of their spatial area and unique characteristics.
