A Complete Back Garden Overhaul

Our clients wanted a complete overhaul of their back garden.

We made raised beds and used a lovely porcelain wood-imprint paving stone to match the wooden floorboards of the kitchen.

The result is a more coherent garden that feels connected to the house, with practical structure, planting space and a stronger relationship between indoors and outdoors.

Raised Beds and Paving That Connect House and Garden

This West Chiltington garden uses raised beds and carefully chosen paving to make the outdoor space feel like a natural continuation of the home.

A Clearer Garden Framework

Raised beds give the garden structure, create more generous planting areas and help turn a plain back garden into a more purposeful outdoor space.

Materials Linked to the Home

The porcelain wood-imprint paving was chosen to relate to the kitchen floorboards, strengthening the connection between the interior and the garden.

West Chiltington Garden Project Notes

The old West Chiltington page preserved useful original project material about a garden designed around wildlife, water and woodland planting.

The clients loved wildlife, so the garden included a large wildlife pond and a woodland walk approaching the water from the opposite direction.

They also wanted a small section of formal lawn, so the design created a semi-circle of good quality turf that changed into a wildflower meadow leading towards the pond.

The planting was chosen as a feast of insect and bird-loving plants and small trees, designed to fill the space over time. The original testimonial praised the new pond, decking, brick planters, sleeper vegetable plots and lit woodland walkway.

Garden Design in West Chiltington: FAQs

A few practical answers for West Chiltington homeowners considering a new garden design.

Do you design gardens in West Chiltington and nearby villages?

Yes. Glorious Gardens Sussex works with clients in West Chiltington and the surrounding West Sussex area, designing gardens that suit the property, the setting and the way each client wants to use the space.

Can you help connect a kitchen or living space to the garden?

Yes. Andrew considers thresholds, paving, views, levels and planting so the garden feels like a natural extension of the home.

How does the garden design process start?

It starts with a conversation and, where useful, a site visit. Andrew listens to how you use the garden, what is not working, what you love, and what level of design support you need before recommending the next step.

Can you help with a complete garden redesign?

Yes. Depending on the project, Andrew can provide a full design service covering ideas, layout, planting, materials, detailed drawings and guidance through the build so the finished garden follows the design intent.
