Our clients had a dilemma. They wanted to park both their cars in the drive but also wanted a welcoming and interesting garden.
We designed a black metal archway to link up with the curve over the door and make a distinction between the car parking area and the more intimate space around the house. Over the arch, a generous climbing rose and clematis will grow. We lined the path with Euonymus Green Rocket and used two Vietnamese pots with standard Ligustrum Delavayanum to make the entrance a natural focal point.
We created a breakfast room and made a shingle garden as our clients wanted a low maintenance garden. We converted a large Cretan pot into a water feature which one day will settle itself into the garden as planting, especially the Japanese Acer, will gradually surround it.
