My client wanted formal garden elements but not too eat and fussy either. To give the garden a crisp and impressive boundary we used pleached hornbeams and planted 30 metres of Yew to surround the pool and give a nice straight edge to the right hand bed.

Planting in the beds is English cottage with a luxurious twist, using Brunnera Jack Frost, Thalictium, elegant Campanula persicifolia and Persicaria Firetail.

Wonderful metal obelisques will one day be bedecked with Roses and Clematis and these climbers will start having interesting conversations with the pleaches.
