Public utility search
Wayleaves may be a constraining factor that will be built into your Glorious Woodlands design.
Identifying infrastructures such as powerlines, pipelines, masts, wind energy installations and roads are important as they will have to be considered when designing your woodland. For example, there is are minimum distance that trees can be planted from powerlines of specific voltages.
The utility search will account for overhead and underground services such as overhead power cables. If utilities cross your site some arrangements such as coppicing trees under the power cable might need to be taken into account. Also, service engineers will have the right to enter your property in case of emergency.
If purchasing land for your woodland then legal advice should be sought. Glorious Woodlands will contact all the public utility providers to check there are no pipes or equipment is wise to show your consideration before Local Authority searches. If there are any utility structures then these should be documented and the utility company should pay for using your land. This is important for identifying where trees can be planted in your Glorious Woodlands design.
